Saginaw Youth Development Corporation, a nonprofit Youth Build skilled trades organization for high school dropouts and at-risk youth, is teaming up with a Midland company to build a pilot version of an automated indoor farm

Executive Director Eric Eggleston said it offers a number of programs to help young people finish high school, get a GED, training in skilled trades, job placement and more. The target age group is 16-24. Eggleston said besides education and training, Youth Development Corporation offers wraparound services like counseling and daycare, to help students succeed.

SAGINAW, Mich., Oct. 28, 2021 — Yesterday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer visited Saginaw’s YouthDevelopment Corporation to participate in a roundtable focusing on public safety with state Rep. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw), local police chiefs and community groups. The YouthDevelopment Corporation offers practical, hands-on job training and job placement to those suffering the damaging effects of poverty.
